Hellebores form a mound of leathery evergreen foliage which bear upright stems of large, saucer-shaped blooms. Divide every few years in late spring. Evenly moist, humus rich soil in light to full shade. Blooms March to April with double, frilly blooms in shades of midnight purple and slate to black. Zone 3-9. Plant with ferns, hosta, lungwort, tiarella, crested iris, cyclamen, and sweet woodruff. Deer and Rabbit Resistant. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten/Skin irritant.
