Large groundcover with clumping habit. Plant forms an irregular circle of woody stems with dark green, glossy needle like leaves, and shrouds itself with masses of flowers. Easily grown in average, well drained soil in full sun or light shade. Sheer back hard after flowering to encourage bushy growth. Zone 3-9. Sturdy spring flowering plants for the rock garden or edger for the front of borders, walks or paths. Perfect in soil pockets just behind a wall where they will spill over to soften the edge. Combine with spring bulbs, columbine, dicentra, forget-me-nots, aubrieta, mountain pinks and aurinia.
