Lychnis Viscaria Ssp. Sticky Catchfly

Plant forms a rosette of dark green, narrow leaves and sends stems bearing loose sprays of deep purple red flowers. Plant in full sun in average soil. Drought tolerant. Very hardy. Zone 3-8. Interesting color to mix with whites and blues in the front of the sunny border or rock garden. Plant with iberis, snow in summer, pulsatilla, dwarf iris, blue flax, and short veronicas.
