Mt Cuba did a trail on this plant and did NOT find one cause of powdery mildew. Full sun to part shade in moisture retentive soil. Zone 3-8. Combine in borders with yarrow, balloon flowers, garden phlox, cranesbill geraniums, and lilies. Combine in wild garden with boneset, hibiscus, joe-pie-weed, and queen-of-the-prairie.
