Running rootstocks shoot erect, square stems with toothed aromatic leaves, and tall whorled heads of tubular flowers. Highly mildew resistant. Hummingbird plant. Sun to part shade in moisture retentive soil. Zone 5-8. A must for the butterfly garden. Plant in borders or woods edge with astilbe, chelone, filipendula, Siberian iris, iris ensata, kirengeshoma, Japanese anemone, and campanula.
