Finally a hardy fig for Northern growers!  This small tree may die back to the ground each winter, but will flush out and produce large leaves and edible fruit in late summer/early fall. Parthenocarpic, does not require two to pollinate. Nice specimen shrub in the patio garden or with your vegetables. Can be potted, but needs to be moved indoors over winter.

Full sun- part shade. Best fruiting in full sun. Rich, moist, well-draining soil.  Mulch with compost, or leaves when dormant. Zone 5-10.

To prevent die back, consider using a protective cover over winter when temperature go below 15°F.
