Speckled with silver, the apple-green foliage is eventually completely covered in a silver sheen. Violet-blue flowers transition to purple, then pink. Mounding habit will spread to create a beautiful foliage display. Easy to grow in evenly moist humus rich soil in partial to full shade. Plants are moderately drought tolerant once established. May go dormant early if it gets too dry. Combine with daffodils under trees and shrubs, the tough attractive summer foliage follows the bloom to cover dying bulb foliage, and is an outstanding ground cover. In garden, plant in drifts with hellebores, purple palace heuchera, anemone, bleeding hearts, and Iris. Works well planted along a shaded path.
