One of the first bloomers in the spring. Urn shaped flowers are bore on thick stems and are slightly nodding. Fuzzy seed heads are very ornamental. Grow in semi-shade to full sun in well drained garden soil. Prefers protection from hot afternoon sun. Great plants for early bloom in rock garden or dry bank. Plant with arabis, campanula clips, corydalis, delosperma, erodium, iberis, lewisia, and stachys.
