Tall, unusual, North American native with enormous rosettes of 1 foot long smooth gray green leaves with a hazy silvery sheen. Tall stiff stems bear single coned flowers. 5 inch wide golden flowers with drooping rays and a brown cone center. Moist to average soil in full sun. Tolerates very moist sites. Zone 3-9. Attracts songbirds and butterflies, deer resistant.
