Anemone-like bloom. Good for a privacy screen with lots of summer color. Soft, graceful stems and a rounded habit. Blooms on new wood. Prune as needed in early spring. Grows in any soil unless very wet or very dry. Plant in full sun. Zone 5-9. Use in shrub border or as a specimen plant. One of the last plants to leaf out in the spring. Since they bloom on new growth in the summer and fall it is best to prune them in late winter or early spring. Can be trained as a small tree. Introduced to the eastern US according to the USDA.
