A cross between herbaceous garden peonies and woody tree peonies. Plant forms a sturdy clump of foliage 25-30â tall and wide that looks great spring through fall. Strong stems hold flowers upright even after heavy rain. Not particular about soil. Grow in full sun or light shade for best flower production. Mulch to keep roots cool and moist. Do not over fertilize. Leaf spots can be a problem if plants have too much nitrogen. Plant peonies in a row for a hedge or plant in sunny border. Plant with spring bulbs and their expanding foliage will shroud declining bulb foliage. Plant with Siberian iris, foxgloves, poppies, salvia, dianthus, rudbeckia, and daisies.
