Clematis Chevalier 2 Gal

A more compact Clematis that blooms its velvety royal purple flowers twice a year. Deep green foliage is the perfect backdrop to appreciate the depth of those stunning flowers. 

Can be trained to climb on walls or trellises, or can sprawl as a ground cover. 

Full sun - part shade. Average, moist, well-draining soil. Zone 4-9.

Attracts pollinators including butterflies and hummingbirds.

Blooms on old and new wood - avoid pruning as it will remove either first or second round of flowers. Vine tips may be trimmed in early spring, this will still allow lower down, old-wood buds to bloom. 

Apply mulch at root zone to keep soil cool and uniformly moist.
