Incredible chocolate-purple lacy foliage.Possibly the deepest darkest foliage color by far in an Astilbe. The contrasting light, feathery pink flower plumes make for a visually appealing plant. Blooms of soft pink appear in late summer. Partial shade to full sun in organically rich, moist soil that does not dry out. Likes a boggy area in full sun. Zone 5-8. Plant in mass along with other varieties of astilbe for a wave of colorful plumes all summer. Deer and rabbit resistant.
