French Vanilla produces creamy yellow blooms with a deep maroon center. This native bog plant performs exceptionally in those low lying wet spots in your landscape, including zone 1 of rain gardens where water stands for a period of time. They emerge later in the spring than most shrubs, however they are fast growing.
Deer resistant, attracts pollinators.
Full sun - part sun. Average, moist-wet soil. Zone 4-9. Protect from winter winds.
Deadheading can maintain neat appearance but is not necessary for continued blooming.
Fertilize throughout growing season for best results.
Cut back stems to approximately 3-4 inches in late fall.
