Blooms open to a vivid pink-red-purple color, and since they don't' produce seed, that saved energy is put to use forming even more blooms. Besides the awesome flowers that dot this mounding shrub, is the fantastic foliage that emerges cherry red and turns green with maturity. This shrub works well in boarders, edges, mass plantings, containers, or as a specimen. 

Full Sun -part sun. Best in higher sun. Average, moist, well-draining soil.

Blooms on new wood - prune after its first bloom in late spring to produce a flush of new growth. Every few years it is recommended that the old stems be removed to keep shrub looking fresh and vigorous.
