Baptisia Plum Rosy

This long lived, drought tolerant perennial can be used in place of a shrub in the garden. The blooms open mauve pink and lighten with age. Both colors of pink are on the bloom at the same time which creates a bicolor look. Full sun in well drained, average soil that is not overly fertile. Very good tolerance to poor soil and drought. Long lived plant that should not be disturbed once established. Zone 5-8. Good middle of the sunny border plant that will have a shrub like effect. Plant with asclepias, asters, echinaceas, garden phlox, iris, liatris, and salvia. Provides a good focal point in border.
