Tuft forming plant with pale gray green leaves and long hairy stems bearing nodding buds that open to fragrant, crinkled papery textured blooms. Plant goes dormant in summer. Full sun in rich moist well drained soil. Plants go dormant in heat of summer but will reseed. Delicate, colorful, showy spring blooms for front of border and rock gardens.
