Actaea Simplex (Cimicifuga) Chocoholic

Very regal plant with bronze-purple foliage. Ferny leaves, with three toothed leaflets and purplish stems. Slightly fragrant arching spires of blooms. Late bloomer for fall garden. Moist woodland soil in part shade.  Zones 3-7.   Deer Resistant. Rabbit Resistant. Plants will take about three years to develop into a mature clump. Extraordinary sight when grown in large groups.  Dark foliage creates interesting contrast with surrounding green plants. Great in woodsy corner or shady moist border.  Use at woods edge for backdrop. Plant with astilbe, chelone, monarda, lobelia, digitalis, geranium, and woodland phlox.
