Amsonia Storm Cloud (Pw)

Watch in spring as incredibly dark stems emerge from the ground.  Forms a large mound.  Olive green leaves have silver veins. Ordinary garden soil in part shade or full sun.  Amsonia are native to the Eastern US.  Heat tolerant. Woods edge plant , or good backdrop for smaller plants with its fine foliage contrast. Plant with hosta, digitalis, chelone, geranium, hesperis, asters, and woodland phlox. Suggested Use:  Rain Garden. Zone 4-9.
