Elfin Swan is an outstanding plant when used en masse. Perfect for background plantings. Vigorous, mid-height. Broad, deeply-divided slightly bristled, dark-green foliage. Plants prefer a rich, moist site, spreading to form a large patch. Good for full sun or part shade. Use a winter mulch in colder regions, particularly if planting in the fall. Easily divided in early spring. May need to be staked towards late summer. Zone 4-8. Woodland plantings with ferns and bleeding hearts. Showy in mass along woods edge or the back of a shady border. Deer and Rabbit Resistant. Attracts butterflies
