Astilbe Happy Spirit

This new astilbe provides an amazing color contrast between the pure white, wispy flower plumes and the bright red stems, making it a  go-to for homeowners that want something special, but don't have a lot of sunny sites to fill.  Once planted they can be left alone for decades as it is a completely trouble free plant, their one requirement being moisture. Plant in full sun in boggy area or part shade in moist rich soil. Zone 3-8. Plant in mass along ponds or streams. Combine in shady border with ferns, hostas, lady’s-mantle, Solomon's seal, and lungworts.
