Popular cut flower for shade gardens.  Perfectly content in shady woodland gardens or borders, but also in dappled light under moisture-loving shade trees. Needs consistent moisture. Prefers humus rich slightly acidic soil. Full sun to full shade. Dislikes soggy conditions. Deep shade inhibits blooming. Divide clumps every 3-5 years. Zone 4-9. Attracts butterflies, Deer and Rabbit Resistant.
