A low mound of grey-green leaves with an early summer display of shaggy flowers. A good choice for near the front of the border. Flowers are great for cutting. Plants may benefit from a hard cutting back in midsummer. Full sun or part shade in average soil. Very cold hardy and drought tolerant once established. Zones 3-9. Plant with campanula, monarda, cardinal flower, spiderwort, heuchera, and foxglove.
