Small pink flower in spring become clusters of bold purple berries that remain on arching branches from mid-summer to mid-fall. Foliage turns a bright yellow in fall. A nice choice for groups, borders, or bird gardens.
Full Sun-part shade. Average, medium moisture, well-drained soil. Zone 5-8.
Attracts pollinators and birds, deer resistant.
Blooms on new wood - prune in late winter/early spring. Cut back to 6â in late winter or early spring each year to promote bushiness.
This shrub may experience significant dieback over winter. However, due to its rapid growth rate and new wood blooms, this is not at the expense of fruiting.
