Neat mounds of blue-green foliage bear many erect stems with multiple buds that open to form single, fringed, fragrant flowers. Easy to grow in a sunny site with average to sandy, well-drained soil. Does not like a site that is wet over winter. Zone 5-9. Plant in rock gardens or particularly useful as edging plants in the front of a sunny border or walkway with sedum, gypsophila repens, creeping phlox, short yarrows, and alpine aster.
