Small fronds composed of many leaflets hang down like fingers from shiny almost black, wiry forked stems. Fronds turn yellow in autumn. Deciduous, depending on Mother Nature, it can hold it’s fronds into late fall. Native woodland plant for moist humus-rich soil in dappled to high shade, receiving only morning sunlight and no strong sun light. Foliage sun scorches easily. Zones 2-9. Grow in woodland gardens for a softer accent plant or as a groundcover in a spot that is shady and well mulched.
