Late summer bicolor of green and red, deepens to dark red in the Fall and then scarlet with frost. Excellent for restoring damaged soil. Native warm season grass for sun to part shade. Does well in dry meadows or well-drained sandy or loam soils. Zone 3-8. Salt tolerant. Best used in mass or as part of a meadow planting. Also a showy specimen in a dry garden or with other grasses.
