Hosta Hybrid August Moon

Award winner with large rounded seer-suckered, green-gold leaves that stay attractive all summer. Leaves deepen to gold as summer progresses in dappled shade. Easy to grow, long-lived plants. They perform best in a shady spot with evenly moist soil, but will do well in a shady dry spot if well mulched. Once established plants keep themselves weed free. Bold dramatic foliage plants for the shaded gardens. They leaf out rather late, leaving open spots in the early spring for bulbs or spring ephemerals like, shooting stars, virginia blur bells, merry bells, and snowdrop amemone. Use large hostas for specimen plants, medium hostas for groundcovers, and small leaves hostas for rock gardens or containers. Combine with ferns, lungworts, and woodland phlox, and hardy geraniums.
