Hosta Purple Heart

Glossy lime to green leaves spotlighted with red purple in the leaf base.  One of the most neat and uniform habits of any Hosta.  The short petioles are almost black.  A compact, densely clumping habit.  Good slug resistance. Long lived plants. Grow best in rich, moist, but well-drained soil in filtered sunlight. Mixing an abundance of organic matter into the soil when planting and then mulching over the years keeps hostas looking their best. Water during periods of drought and protect from slugs.  Zone 3-8.
