Iris Louisiana Black Gamecock

Tall clumps of evergreen strap like foliage grow from rhizomes and bear  extremely colorful beardless irises. Likes standing water, but will happily grow well in evenly moist fertile soil in full sun. Naturalizes well in bogs or along ponds and streams, plant in a sunny moist area with ligularia, osmunda, rodgersia, lobelia, filipendula, and Iris versicolor. Plant where you can easily see and enjoy these flowers.
