Knautia Melton Pastels

Plant grows from clumps of lyre-shaped basal leaves that shoot thin, branched stems bearing globular pin cushion like blooms in pastel colors. Pin cushion, scabiosa like flowers in a carnival of pink, wine-red, salmon and light blue pastel colors. Full sun in ordinary well drained garden soil.  Zone 5-8. The unusual color of the flowers adds a soft look to the border, particularly against ornamental grasses or silver foliage plants.
