Bushy, distinctively scented, dense silvery-green foliage that holds up well in cool, wet weather. Dark purple flower spikes stand out against its foliage and have a strong lavender scent. Average to rich, well drained soil in full sun. Established plants are drought tolerant and deer resistant. Prune back or divide to encourage new growth. Zone 4-9. Makes a splendid low hedge or specimen plant. A must in the herb and dried flower garden. Plant in sunny borders with yarrow, daylilies, dianthus, oenothera, sea holly, and rock cress.
