Dark green coarsly toothed leaves up to 1 ft in basal rosette. Average to rich moist, but well drained soil. Full sun is best, at least 6 hours. Zone 4-9. Attracts butterflies, plant with other summer bloomers (delphinium, jupiters beard, yarrow, liatris daylilies) or with spring bulbs. Emerging shoots with cover bulb foliage.
