Dramatic architectual plant, that forms a huge clump of 12â rounded dark-green leaves with deeply toothed edges, on nearly black stems. Blooms are tall spikes of bright yellow flowers in midsummer. Cool site, shaded from hot afternoon sun in moisture retentive soil in part shade. Will tolerate a boggy site. Dramatic plants for the bog garden, streamside, or shady border where their bold leaves and flowers effectively contrast with ferns, hosta, anemone, columbine, astilbe, cimicufuga, and monarda. Attracts butterflies, Deer Resistant.
