Drought tolerant plant. An unusual evening primrose with whorls of vivid yellow orange, papery flowers that fade to maroon red, on a well branched red stemmed plant with rich green foliage. Likes average dry, well drained soil in full sun. Will reseed. Plant in sunny border, cottage garden or wildflower garden with nepeta, lavender, blue flax, daisies, feverfew, belamcanda, bearded iris, and garden phlox.
