Grown for its distinctive dark purple almost black grassy leaves. Great contrast foliage plant, forms slow growing sparse clumps that bear clusters of lilac flowers followed by black berries. Plant in moist but well drained soil in partial shade. Slow to establish but in two years will make a good groundcover or edging plant. Dramatic in combination with gold hosta and lysimachia nummular
