Upright clumping variety of Penstemon. Large sturdy stems are stacked with tubular sapphire-blue flowers in summer. Foliage is glossy and clean. Plant in full sun with well-drained soil, plant likes very little water. Fertilize once per month for best results. Removing spent flower stems will encourage repeat blooming. Very cold hardy. Great blue plant for a hot dry area. Plant with artemisia, catananche, poppies, yucca, sedum, verbascum, butterfly weed, liatris, and yarrow. Native to North America.
