Clumps of heart-shaped leaves produce fragrant multicolored blooms, with five rounded petals, all summer. Plant in moist location in partial shade. Plant in wooded area for all summer bloom with ferns, hosta, hepatica, asarum, and trillium. Plant in the front of the shady border to brighten up the landscape all summer with chelone, purple-foliage heuchera, geraniums, monarda, digitalis, and aquilegia.
