Open, upright, spreading, rounded deciduous shrub. Foliage has slight texture, and is a vibrant green from spring - summer, before turning bright shades of orange-red in fall. Blooms large clusters of white flowers with yellow/white centers in early spring, which will turn to black berries in fall. This Aronia works well in rain gardens, and along bodies of water such as ponds or streams. With its naturally colonial spreading habit, considered planting in areas where the shrub does not need to be restrained, such as along borders, or woodland edges.
Full sun - part shade. Best flowering/fruiting in full sun. Average, moist-wet, well-draining-boggy soils. Zone 3-8.
Blooms on new wood - if desired, prune to shape in early spring when new growth emerges.
