This Japanese Holly requires no pruning to maintain its tight columnar growth of dark green foliage and is highly adaptable to a wide range of sun and soil conditions. Small, non-significant green/white flowers that when planted near a male, produce black, round, fruit droops in fall. Full sun- part shade. Any soil that is moist and well-draining. Protect from winter winds. 

Tolerant of a wide range of soils from heavy clay to light sand. Tolerant of air pollution, and once established, moderately tolerant of drought.
