The best orange iris. Fans of broad, flat, pointed leaves grow from thick rhizomes that creep along the soil surface. Flowerstalks emerge bearing large buds that open to big papery irises with bearded falls. Does best in full sun in average to dry, well drained soil that does not remain too wet in winter. Plant in sunny border for vertical accent with lychnis, baptisia, nepeta, shasta daisy, poppies, coreopsis, and salvia.
