Fans of broad, flat, pointed leaves grow from thick rhizomes that creep along the soil surface. Flower stalks emerge bearing large buds that open to big papery irises with bearded falls. Stunning, ink-blue petals surrounded by a cool icy blue and complimented by near white edges. Full to partial sun in average to dry, well drained soil that does not remain too wet in winter. Zone 3-8. Deer resistant.
