Pairing the showiness of a traditional Kolkwitzia with a dwarf habit allows this shrub to maintain its naturally arching form and profusion of yellow and pink flowers in spring and early summer, but makes it more adaptable to smaller sites. Its dense habit allows for it to be used as a small hedge, or foundation plant.
Deer resistant, attracts pollinators including butterflies and hummingbirds.
Full sun - part sun. Average, alkaline, moist, well-draining soil. Zone 4-8.
Naturally arching habit is maintained without pruning, however as it blooms old wood, any pruning should occur immediately after blooming.
