Very sturdy, drought resistant plant with dark blue-green leaves divided into rounded leaflets. Spikes of pea-like flowers bloom for over a month. Deer resistant. Deep shades of reddish purple pea-like flowers on tall spikes. Excellent cut flowers and foliage. Full sun in well drained, average soil that is not overly fertile. Interspecific hybrid of our native baptisias. Zone 4-9.
