Large rich deep violet flowers bloom with creamy yellow center on this mid sized Clematis from late spring to early fall. 'Duchess of Cornwall' can be trained to climb on walls or trellises, or can sprawl as a ground cover.
Full sun - part shade. Average, moist, well-draining soil. Zone 4-8.
Attracts pollinators, deer resistant, Black Walnut tolerant.
Blooms on new wood - prune to 6" above ground in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges.
Apply mulch at root zone to keep soil cool and uniformly moist.
