Spring leaves emerge orange and take on a golden green as summer brings in large soft panicles that appear as misty green “smoke.” Can be trained as a large shrub or small tree and makes a great specimen plant. Can also be used as a low hedge or mass planting.   

Deer resistant, attracts pollinators.

Full Sun. Average-fertile, moist, well-draining soil. Intolerant of wet soil - avoid low-lying areas.  Zones 4-8.

Blooms on new wood-pruning is not usually required but if you need to do so, it should be done in the spring.
