A clump-forming perennial with fern-like, green foliage and creamy-Yellow flower spikes that rise 18 inches above the foliage mound. Showy, Yelow, white plumes. Similar to Astilbe, it thrives in moist, fertile soil. Partial shade to full sun. Needs well drained, consistently moist soil. it should not be allowed to dry out. Zone 4 to 7, prefers part shade in the warmer southern part of its growing range.
