Astilbe Chinensis Milk and Honey

Tough and regal plant with deeply incised, rough-textured, dark green  and silver-marbled foliage. Plants form clumps from fibrous rooted crowns and send up creamy white to pink plumes of flowers. Holds up well under heat, but needs moisture.

Creamy white plumes that turn light pink as they age.

Partial shade to full sun in organically rich, moist soil that does not dry out. If in full sun, needs a boggy site. Zone 3 - 9.

Plant in mass along ponds and in boggy areas.  Combine in shady, moist border with hosta, ferns, solomon seal, columbine, cimicifuga, and anemone.
