This variety has better cold hardiness than others, although winter protection is still recommended. Upright evergreen shrub with glossy dark green foliage. Cute, bright flowers bloom in spring. Plant in a protected area on the warm side of your house or amongst other evergreens to provide a natural wind break. 

Blooms in April with Red flower with distinct yellow stamens, fragrant flowers

Pruning is generally unnecessary but if you want to, prune after flowering in spring to your desired shape and size.
