Compact deciduous shrub has a rounded habit with green leaves and lovely fragrant flowers in spring. Can withstand drought, black walnut, and rocky soil. Use in the native garden or meadow, herb garden, rock garden, or add into the home landscape.

Dried leaves were used in American Revolutionary War times to make tea, hence its name.

In May-June, 2 inch long clusters of tiny white flowers bloom at stem ends and are fragrant

Blooms on new wood. Prune a third of the bush back in late winter or early spring.
